Defensive Pistol Phase I

Defensive Pistol Phase I

Phase I Defensive Pistol (DP1A) is the first half of our celebrated introduction to FIGHTING WITH HANDGUNS.

This class is for intermediate to advanced shooters.

YOU WILL NEED AT LEAST ONE PARTNER YOU CAN SPAR WITH.  Your training partner(s) should be a family member or intimate acquaintance you do not mind sharing social space with in the COVID era.

We will teach you how to keep your pistol when the bad guy tries to take yours away, even if he’s on top of you.

We will also teach you how to off line and control the bad guy’s weapons, so you can stay alive long enough to get yours into action.

We will do role playing exercises and other hands-on training.  This course will take place in air conditioned comfort, in an auditorium large enough to maintain social distance between partnered (or groups of) trainees.  CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED TO 10 STUDENTS.  No ammunition is required.  Face masks and eye protection will be worn.

This is NOT an “intro to pistol shooting” class.  Warlizard’s Pistol Clinics, NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting, or military basic pistol courses count as pre-requisites for this Heloderm course (DP1A / Phase I Defensive Pistol).  In turn, this class (DP1A) is a prerequisite to our live-fire Phase II Defensive Pistol (DP1B).  Our next DP1B is scheduled for 29 August 2020.  Let us know about your prior training.

Class starts at 9:00 am and should run till around 3:00 pm.  There is a lunch break; while you eat, we discuss and demonstrate 4 different types of weapons (Edged, Impact, Flexible, and Projectile Launchers).  This is so you will know how to maximize the advantages and minimize the disadvantages of your pistol when faced by opponents with different systems (whoever said “Never bring a knife to a gunfight” has never been attacked in an elevator).  Cost is $50 per student, $45 for returning Heloderm / Warlizard students, and $30 for military / law enforcement / medical services students and their families.  This course is FREE for military with deployment orders and their families.

Contact us via the form below if you’re interested in this training, either via teleconference or in person.
