Terrain Analyses

Military leadership schools often do “field trips” to battlefields, to analyze the battles in a way than cannot be achieved reading a book. My wife calls this my “morbid tour of death.” I go to conflict locations large and small, including where police shootings have occurred, to see what lessons can be gleaned from the terrain. This category will include summaries of what I’ve learned.
